Mother Lode Shootist Society

Jamestown, CA

The Mother Lode Shootist Society is a SASS affiliated cowboy action shooting club. We shoot one 6 stage match per month; scored by total time. Ammunition requirements may vary, but 60 handgun, 60 rifle and 30 shotgun shells are typical for a match. New shooters are welcome! First-time participants are encouraged to attend one of our matches as a spectator, before actually shooting. This will allow familiarization with the sport, emphasize safety, gun handling, equipment selection and provide a general overview of how a cowboy match works. For your first "live" match, new shooters should be familiar with SASS rules, gun safety and the operation of your firearms. You will have an experienced member "mentor" walk you through a safety check and proper procedure orientation during your first stage.
