California Shady Ladies

California Shady Ladies is a SASS-affiliated club organized by women for women, but we’re not here to separate the guys from the gals. Our mission is to create a fun and supportive Cowboy Action Shooting venue for cowboy action shooters of all skill levels, from newbies to champions. Goals include the following:

• To encourage, educate and mentor new shooters to gain experience and improve skills through participation in a no-pressure environment through practice at our monthly matches.
• To encourage newer shooters to participate in SASS RO classes and/or firearm safety classes to build confidence in cowboy action shooting.

In addition to the standard SASS categories, an Open category is available, which allows a shooter to use a different SASS shooting category on different stages. You may shoot two-handed on Stage 1, Gunfighter on Stage 2 and some other category on any of the other stages. Basically, you're not committed to a category style for the entire match.

Other non-SASS categories sometimes offered are: Josie Wales - the Josie Wales category must use three additional revolvers instead of a rifle and shotgun. You may use smokeless or black powder and shoot your revolvers in any style. Tom Horn - the Tom Horn category uses rifle-caliber lever action rifles. These two categories will be announced when offered.

Cost: The regular match fee is $20 or $15 with Diamond Dick's Cowboy Town Membership. Shooters under 18 always shoot for free.

When:
4th Saturday of each month. Matches starts at 9:00am. Registration starts 30 minutes before match.
